Welcome to Stepping Stones Counseling, LLC;
Mental health therapy, relationship concerns and Alcohol/Drug assessments and counseling.
It is important to find the right therapist that you can trust. Congratulations for getting to this point in your life in seeking out services to assist you in making a positive transition.
My name is Cheryl Kack MSW. LICSW. LADC. , the owner and operator of Stepping Stones Counseling. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Licensed in Minnesota, Iowa and Delaware.
The relationship that is established is the most important aspect of therapy as it is the foundation from which change begins to occur. I provide a supportive, non-judgemental environment where you can feel comfortable and safe in order to explore and share your concerns. My style in therapy is compassionate, warm and interpersonal but direct to help you find solutions that work for you. When individuals come to me for therapy they are trusting in my knowledge and abilities to help with the process of change by sharing their inner most thoughts and feelings, and I hold that with upmost respect. My philosophical orientation is to empower by helping you acknowledge and identify your own internal resources and self- awareness to resolve your difficulties and struggles.
As a therapist, my specialties address relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD, alcohol and/or drug addictions and more. Each individual’s treatment is specifically tailored to meet his/her needs and goals using effective evidence based approaches. I work with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples.
I am dedicated in providing a high quality and therapeutic experience. Whether you are struggling with mental health and/or substance use issues, I welcome you to find out how I can help you become a happier and healthier person.

My therapeutic techniques are founded in and include: Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)is an effective, evidenced b, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, APRN, CNPased eye movement therapy that is designed to help individuals process negative emotions, physical sensations, and memories. An effective tool to resolve issues stemming from trauma, loss, and other unresolved experiences, Accelerated Resolution Therapy has been helpful in the treatment of PTSD, anxiety, depression, and as well as other mental health challenges. This fast acting intervention uses rapid eye movement, imagery, and voluntary image replacement to allow individuals to process and “positize” hardships which in turn leads to resilience and resolution.
